L&J Down
L&J Down’s expertise goes beyond mere feather processing; it is a core capability that supports the quality competitiveness of our clients’ brands.
The precision, hygiene, and years of accumulated know-how embedded within the invisible down are the foundation of the “technology-driven service”
that L&J Down provides.
At every stage—from selection, washing, dehydration, drying, cooling, sorting, to blending—L&J Down prioritizes hygiene and quality management.
This level of expertise directly translates into enhanced quality competitiveness for our clients’ brands.
Raw Material Selection
We carefully select goose and duck down and feathers to meet our customers’ specific requirements.
De-dusting
In the dust removal process, vibrations and vacuum are used to eliminate contaminants.
Washing
Using hot water and additives, the down is washed to sterilize the product and remove contaminants.
Dehydration
The feathers and down are placed in a centrifuge to remove moisture.
Drying
The material is placed in a pressure tank and dried with high-pressure, high-temperature steam (100–120°C) for 30 minutes.
Cooling
The dried down is cooled, and any remaining fine dust or impurities are removed once again.
Sorting
Using air flow or mechanical methods, heavy feathers and light down are separated. In this process, down and feathers are sorted according to the specified ratio.
Blending
A mixing machine is used to enhance product uniformity and ensure overall consistency.
Packaging and Shipping
Products that have passed quality inspection are carefully packaged and shipped.

QUAILTY
We check twice
Once at the factory, and
Once again at our headquarters
L&J Down’s quality management goes beyond simple inspection procedures; it is our unique promise to deliver warmth you can trust to our customers.
From the initial inspection at the factory to the reinspection at headquarters, every down undergoes a rigorous process before becoming a finished product.
L&J Down follows a strict two-step inspection process before shipment to ensure reliable quality. The first inspection is conducted at the factory, where down samples are tested for composition, fill power, odor, and cleanliness. This ensures compliance with both country standards and customer requirements, using specialized equipment for accurate and efficient testing.
At headquarters, the same down is re-sampled and rigorously re-inspected to verify the factory results, ensuring no issues or quality variations. Only after passing both inspections is the down delivered to the customer.
L&J Down precisely inspects key factors such as down content, fill power, cleanliness, and traceability of origin, ensuring that the warmth, hygiene, and performance meet the customers’ expected standards consistently.
The warmth delivered from unseen places begins with thorough quality control. L&J Down completes that warmth with trust through a two-step inspection process.
The 5-Step Quality Journey to Perfect Warmth
All down products undergo a meticulous 5-step process from sampling to re-inspection before shipment.
This journey is L&J Down’s unique promise to add trust to warmth.
1. Sampling
Large quantities of down are sampled and moved to the laboratory.
Sampling is the first and most important step in quality control to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
2. Composition & Species Inspection
The composition ratio test visually separates and checks the proportions of down, feathers, and impurities.
The species mixing ratio test distinguishes between goose and duck down under a microscope and is used to evaluate the purity of the down species.
3. Fill Power Measurement
Fill power measures the loft and insulation performance of down, evaluating whether a small amount can provide sufficient warmth.
4. Cleanliness Inspection
Using indicators such as Oxygen Number and Turbidity, this test precisely measures the presence of any remaining organic matter
and impurities in the down.
5. Re-inspection and Verification
Samples of down collected directly from the factory are re-sampled and rigorously re-inspected.
This process ensures nothing has been overlooked and completes the assurance of the final product quality.
Down Inspection and
Country-Specific Labeling Standards

L&J Down accurately identifies the latest standards of each country and reflects them in product manufacturing,

Stable Local Production,
Unwavering Quality
L&J Down operates a local corporation in China, the global center of down production, working closely with high-capacity partner factories.
Through our globally distributed supply chain and trusted partnerships, we consistently deliver reliable and high-quality down.
Our dependable local network — that’s the core of our competitiveness.
The global down market is shaped by diverse production regions, each with its own distinctive characteristics based on local climates, farming environments, and processing infrastructure.
Production regions are distributed based on factors such as the farming environment of ducks and geese, climate conditions, and processing infrastructure. Each region supplies down with its own unique strengths and characteristics.
In Europe, high-quality goose down is produced in countries such as Poland, Hungary, and France, where traditional processing techniques support their strong presence in the premium market. Canada is a major producer in North America, known for down with excellent insulation, thanks to its cold climate. In Southeast Asia, Myanmar and Thailand are gradually expanding their market presence with growing production capacity. Additionally, countries like Iceland, Russia, and Germany also contribute to global down production, supporting market diversification.
China, the largest producer, accounts for approximately 80% of global down production. With its extensive farming base and large-scale processing facilities, China plays a crucial role in the global supply chain.
"L&J Down operates a local branch in China, the core hub of global down production, and has built a close network with verified partner factories handling thousands of tons of down."
We have consistently supplied stable, high-quality down tailored to the diverse needs of our clients, supporting leading domestic and international brands in meeting their quality and delivery requirements.
This locally rooted supply chain and ongoing partnership management serve as a strong foundation that goes beyond mere raw material procurement, building lasting trust in our customers’ brands.
